Mr & Mrs. Potato Head - Fun Learning Activities

Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head - A Family Favorite  - Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head are loved by many.  Kids love putting them together, taking them apart and putting them together again.  This activity is great for promoting fine motor skills.  To extend the fun, we have created more activities for our Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head.

Have children match the correct parts with the correct picture/words

Match Game - Have children find the matching picture cards

Game Board - The first player who lands on all the parts to put their potato head, Mr. or Mrs. Potato Head, together wins.  Each player begins with their potato's head and feet in place.  When players land on a part that belongs to their potato they add that part. When a player lands on a choice spot they can pick a part  needed to complete their potato head.

Fairytales Are A Fun Way to Teach Verbs

Verbs are words that show action, state of being or say something about a noun or pronoun. Learn about present, past, and future tense verbs and regular and irregular verbs. This is done with the help of our friends: the three bears, cat and a fiddle, the cow that jumped over the moon, and Humpty Dumpty!  Learning can be fun!

Onset and Rime Activities

Onset and rime activities help children listen to and identify word parts. Children learn that changing the onset of a word changes the word.  These activities will also assist children in decoding new words.

Say the word for each picture: rat, flat, cat, mat, sat, and hat. Have children make these words by choosing the correct onsets.

As students learn math concepts they must also learn how to apply these concepts to solve problems. After several activities of showing whole to part examples, students use their understanding of the concept to solve word problems.
